Name: Cherry Star
Age: 2004
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Grey

Name: Could Be Alright (IRE)
Age: 1999
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Bay
Sire: Witness Box (USA)
Dam: Some Gossip
Owner(s): Simpson & Castledine & Ian Murray

Comments: A very athletic looking individual who loves the mud, beaten a neck in his first start in heavy ground at Chepstow, having drawn fifteen lengths clear of the rest of the field. A virus, followed by an injury, followed by a virus put his career on hold for a while but we're really looking forward to seeing him out again this season.

Comments: A very decent type rated 90 on the flat and who won his first start over hurdles. Unfortunately, we came across some persistent heat in one of his legs recently and felt it prudent to put him away. He’s a very exciting prospect and we look forward to having him back with us next season.

Colour: Bay
Sire: Synefos (USA)
Dam: Almost Regal (IRE)

Comments: Lovely old-fashioned potential Steeplechaser who had 2 promising runs in bumpers but then lost his way a little over hurdles. He possibly needed a bit more time and the plan is to run him on soft ground over hurdles/fences.

Name: Inishmor (IRE)
Age: 2004
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Grey
Sire: Great Palm (USA)
Dam: Kampa Island (IRE)
Owner(s): Mr Ian Murray

Comments: This well-bred and well put-together gelding by Great Palm has come on in leaps and bounds since joining us at the beginning of November 07, and if he continues to make such good progress, I’ll look forward to running him in a bumper before the end of the season.

Comments: Winner of four races in the French provinces, a very sharp and athletic type with a great jump who was found to be a little under the weather after his first fun over hurdles when 7th at Kempton. Age: 2003
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Bay
Sire: Turtle Island (IRE)
Dam: Fair View (IRE)
Owner(s): The Executors of the late Mr A D Weller

Name: Kimi (IRE)
Age: 2001
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Bay
Sire: Presenting (GB)
Dam: Hatherley

Age: 2003
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Grey
Sire: Linamix
Dam: Lit
Owner(s): Mr Ian Murray

Comments: A very attractive ex-French gelding who won on the flat in the Provinces. Sex: Gelding
Colour: Chesnut

Dam: Arctic Beauty (USA)

Name: Mendo (GB)
Age: 2000
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Brown
Sire: Alderbrook (GB)
Dam: Tina’s Farewell
Owner(s): Mrs M C Sweeney

Comments: A very scopy horse who missed last season through injury having run some promising races in bumpers, winning on his racecourse debut at Sandown and being placed third in the Grade 2 Aintree bumper. He ran on to be a very promising fourth in his first run over hurdles in the Grade 2 novice hurdle at Haydock, 2nd in a Grade 2 novice event at Kempton before winning at both Market Rasen and Ascot.

Comments: I trained this one’s mother and two sisters so feel I know her well already!! A big, promising filly who spent a few weeks initiation with us last Spring during which time she dealt with everything in an extremely mature manner. She’ll come back to us at the beginning of August to continue her education and I would hope to run her in the Spring of 2008.

Name: Murphy's Cardinal (IRE)

Sex: Gelding
Colour: Bay
Sire: Shernazar
Dam: Lady Swinford
Owner(s): Miss E Chance

Comments: Having won 6 consecutive races for us, including a Grade 3 Steeplechase at Down Royal, he was finally retired to the hunting field in 2007. However, retirement wasn’t to be for this quirky old soul and he started his new career as a Point-to-Pointer under the new ownership of Eimear Chance early in 2008. He thrilled us all by winning two competitive Men’s Open races and finishing 2nd in a Hunter Chase at Towcester. This season he’ll be aimed at the Cheltenham Foxhunters at the Festival in March.

Owner(s): The Executors of the late Mr A D Weller

Comments: A really lovely big old-fashioned steeplechaser who was placed 3rd in his only run in a Point to Point in Ireland before Christmas. He has a big frame to mature into and will spend the rest of this spring and summer doing flat-work to prepare him for a novice hurdling campaign next season.

Name: Obelix De Longechaux (FR)
Age: 2002

Name: Oponce (FR)
Age: 2002
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Bay
Sire: Varxi
Dam: Fraxinelle
Owner(s): Mrs W Morrell & Mr Robert Frosell

Comments: A big, good-looking ex-French gelding who’s had a couple of runs without troubling the judge, but has still given the impression there’s a lot more there. He’s a good jumper who’ll run once more to get a handicap mark and then run in novice handicap chases which we hope will bring out the best in him.

Name: Quickly Origny (FR)
Age: 2004
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Chesnut
Sire: Agent Bleu (FR)
Dam: Coralline (FR)
Owner(s): The Chance Encounter

Comments: Bought at the Cheltenham Breeze-Up Sale recently, this one’s a really attractive, compact and sharp fellow who really takes the eye. We’ll see how he progresses over the next few weeks and hopefully run him in a bumper before the end of the season.

Name: Saint Eric (FR)
Age: 2002
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Brown
Sire: Lesotho (USA)
Dam: Fearnan (GB)
Owner(s): Mr Ian Preston-Jones

Comments: It takes a brave lad to ride this one when he’s fresh! An attractive and well put together individual who won and was placed on the flat in France. We’ve come up against a couple of niggling problems just as he’s getting close to fitness which have set him back a bit, but we hope to bring him out early this season.

Name: Tiger Bay
Age: 2004
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Bay
Sire: Goldmark (USA)
Dam: Roussanne (IRE)
Owner(s): Mr D Hitchins

Sire: Snurge
Dam: Full Deck (IRE)

Age: 2005
Sex: Gelding

Sire: Ashkalani (IRE)
Dam: Bramble Charm (IRE)
Owner(s): Marksmen

Comments: Affectionately known as ‘Tonto’, this very appealing youngster was broken in this summer and has shown an amazingly mature attitude to his training so far. From the family of Bramble Charm, he should make up into a top class chaser in time.

Name: Unnamed Gelding by Bob Back (IRE)
Age: 2005
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Bay
Sire: Bob Back (USA)
Dam: Homebird (IRE)
Owner(s): Mr T Conway & Mrs Conway, HALF SHARE AVAILABLE

Comments: An extremely good looking and athletic individual whose half-sister won a bumper recently. An exciting prospect whose shown himself to be quite sharp and we hope to run him as a 4 year old in the New Year.

Name: Unnamed Gelding by Viking Ruler (IRE)
Age: 2005
Sex: Gelding
Colour: Brown
Sire: Viking Ruler (AUS)
Dam: Gentle Papoose
Owner(s): FOR SALE

Comments: Half-brother to Gentle Drifter who won a bumper for us by 13 lengths. He is a lovely big, kind horse by a flat stallion so might come together quicker than we originally thought, in which case he’ll make his racecourse debut early in the New Year.
